Brown Headed Cowbird

I’m torn emotionally on these birds. I love feeding the birds in my area, particularly during the winter when food sources may not be as plentiful as other times of the year, but these voracious birds have about worn out their welcome at my feeders. They are aggressive, and will take over the feeders, and they will be in packs of 25 or oftentimes 50 or 100 birds. This can really wipe out a feeder in no time. I want them to be able to eat, but I also want the other birds to eat as well!

These birds are supposed to be herding animal parasite eaters, but from their behavior I would say that THEY are the herd of parasites.Â
