BWBD.com is now the Boll Weevil Birding Digest, and this is probably the 4th iteration of the website since I registered the domain name over 10 years ago.
At first it was the Boll Weevil Beat Down website, which was used for informational purposes for a little online gaming group that I had going at work. This lasted for 5 or 6 years, but then I grew away from computer gaming in general when most of the people that had been participating left to find better working conditions and I wasn’t doing any gaming.
Next the site became the Boll Weevil Brewery and Darts website, as I got into homebrewing…and playing darts (nothing like throwing sharp objects after a brew beers!). Â I still homebrew, but I got another website dedicated to that purpose, so at this point I was left with an open 4 letter domain name, and nothing to do with it.
I have been photographing birds, flowers, lizards, insects, and just about anything else that wonders into my yard for the past 15 years or so, and have often thought about making a webpage dedicated to this hobby, but somehow never got around to doing it.
So…there I was left with an open domain name, and a computer hard drive full of bird pictures, and here we are. I couldn’t put all of my pictures on here (my webhost would kill me!), but I’ll try to pick out some of the best for each species I have and we’ll go from there!
